Wind Mobile (styled as WIND) is a Canadian wireless telecommunications provider operated by Globalive Communications Corporation. The company initially launched mobile data and voice services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Ontario on December 16, 2009 and two days later in Calgary, Alberta.[2] Since then, Southern Ontario has been the main target of network expansion: first with Ottawa in Q1 2011, and then with about half a dozen of additional regions, the most recent being Woodstock on September 11, 2012. In Western Canada, coverage was added to Edmonton, Alberta; additionally, British Columbia was also added for most of Greater Vancouver area plus Abbotsford and Whistler. As of 18 January 2013, Wind Mobile has over 600,000 active subscribers, making it tied with SaskTel Mobility for the fourth largest Canadian mobile operator.[3] Wind is part of a global organization with over 200 million customers as of January 2013. Mobilicity (legal entity name Data & Audio Visual Enterprises Wireless, often abbreviated to DAVE Wireless) is a Canadian wireless telecommunications provider. Its name is a portmanteau of the words "mobility" and "simplicity".[2] CRTC and CWTA numbers suggest that Mobilicity had approximately 206,500 subscribers at the end of Q4 2011.[3] This number includes 113,000 customers (54%) who activated during Q4 of either 2010 or 2011.
